Job summary

YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City is seeking a part-time Child Watch Attendant to create a safe, engaging environment for children while parents work out. You will supervise, lead age-appropriate activities, and maintain a welcoming space for families.

Requirements include strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work during holiday breaks such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or can be provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children in childcare or similar setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain attentive, patient, and calm in a dynamic environment.
• Must be able to work during holiday breaks, including Thanksgiving and Christmas.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred; training can be provided if necessary.
• Reliable, responsible, and punctual.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor children in the drop-in Child Watch facility to ensure safety.
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities and crafts to promote fun and development.
• Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming environment for children and parents.
• Enforce facility rules and safety policies consistently.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's needs or concerns.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to any emergencies or behavioral issues.
