Job summary

The YMCA Stillwater in Stillwater, OK is seeking a Child Watch Attendant to provide a safe, engaging environment for children while their parents exercise. You will supervise, lead activities, and help maintain a welcoming space.

Ideal candidates have experience with children, strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work during holiday breaks. A high school diploma is required; CPR/First Aid certification is preferred and training can be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or in childcare is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Reliable, responsible, and punctual.
• Must be able to work during holiday breaks (Thanksgiving and Christmas).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred; training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor children in the drop-in Child Watch facility to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for children and parents.
• Enforce facility rules and safety policies consistently.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child’s needs or concerns.
• Respond promptly to emergencies or behavioral issues.
