YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties in Puyallup, WA, is looking for a part-time Child Watch Attendant to supervise and engage children from 6 weeks to 7 years while parents use YMCA facilities. The role requires a minimum age of 15 and some prior child-related experience.

CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred, and on-day training is provided. Join a team dedicated to safety, inclusion, and community impact at the Mel Korum Family YMCA.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 15 or older.
• Six months or more related experience (preferred).
• Comfort and confidence working with children.
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
• Must pass background and reference checks (WA Fair Chance Act).
• Value diversity and inclusive environment.
• Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day and other trainings.

Responsibilities

• Care for children ages 6 weeks to 7 years.
• Monitor drop-off and pick-up of children.
• Play actively with children and adapt activities.
• Communicate with parents about behavior and safety.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the child watch area.
• Provide safety briefings to parents and participants.
• Encourage sportsmanship and YMCA core values.
• Assist with daily operations of child watch.
