Job summary

Oakland Family Services in Pontiac, MI is seeking a Part-Time Child Care Assistant to support daily operations in our Learning Centers. The role emphasizes care, supervision, and developmentally appropriate activities for children.

The position offers flexible scheduling with two options, and a commitment to culture and staff development. Prioritizes inclusion and partnership with families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CDA preferred.
• Experience with children 12 months to 12 years old or knowledge of child development.
• Ability to learn and implement High Scope approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day operations of the center and classrooms.
• Provide care and supervision of children and implement developmentally appropriate activities.
• Assist in maintaining ratios and classroom records.
• Maintain licensure standards and report potential violations.
• Participate in planning meetings and coordinate tasks with teachers.
• Provide coaching and professional development to staff.
• Support behavioral plans and collaborate with staff on curriculum needs.
• Ensure a clean, healthy, and esthetically pleasing learning environment.
• Provide active supervision for child safety.
