Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Child Watch Attendant to supervise children, plan age-appropriate activities, and support program management at the Shepherd YMCA Firehouse in La Jolla, CA. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and positive interactions with children and families.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience working with infants and children is a plus.
• Warm and friendly personality with the sensitivity to meet the needs of a diverse population.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or American Safety & Health Institute obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise participants and plan age-appropriate activities.
• Model YMCA values and ensure safety and well-being of children.
• Communicate effectively with parents, children, and staff.
• Assist with daily schedule, curriculum planning, and housekeeping duties as needed.
• Attend staff trainings and meetings.
