YMCA is seeking a Child Watch Attendant at Rancho Family YMCA in Rancho Penasquitos. You will supervise children, plan activities, ensure safety, and support program management. The role requires a warm, professional demeanor and the ability to work with families and staff across departments.

Core responsibilities include leading age-appropriate activities, coordinating curriculum, and maintaining a positive, safe environment. Shifts run Mon–Sat, with morning and afternoon blocks.

Formación

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience working with infants and children is a plus.
• Sincere interest in working with children.
• Warm and friendly personality with sensitivity to a diverse population.
• Excellent customer service experience and strong organizational skills.
• Fingerprinting required by YMCA policies; background checks after conditional offer.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification (Adult and Child/Infant) within 30 days of hire from recognized providers.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and coordinate age-appropriate activities and events for participants.
• Supervise participants ensuring safety and guidance.
• Interact positively with participants, parents, members, and staff with dignity and respect.
• Follow emergency procedures to ensure safety.
• Communicate effectively in person and by phone.
• Follow YMCA policies and report safety concerns.
• Perform general housekeeping duties (cleaning, tidying, floors).
• Maintain professional demeanor to uphold YMCA image.
• Assist in planning and implementing daily schedule and curriculum.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Provide support to other departments as needed.
• Wear YMCA staff shirt and name tag during working hours.
• Lead sports, games and curriculum activities; monitor behavior.
• Relate well to children and adults.
• Lift children and infants as needed.
• Sit/stand for extended periods and manage multiple tasks.
