Visiting Angels of Wall is hiring a Part Time CHHA to enrich clients' quality of life and support wellness per individualized care plans in the Southern Monmouth County area. Responsibilities include personal care, light housekeeping, meal prep, mobility support, and companionship, all under a Registered Nurse's supervision.

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) issued by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred to possess a valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle to transport clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties.
• Reliable transportation to client homes as scheduled.
• Able to assist with groceries, housekeeping, and cooking within dietary constraints.
• Willing to comply with health and safety standards (background check, etc.).
• Compassionate, understanding, and capable of brightening clients’ day.
• Ability to observe patients and respond promptly to health changes.

Responsibilities

Role

As a Visiting Angels Part Time CHHA, you'll play a vital role in enriching the quality of life of clients and supporting their wellness in accordance with their custom care plans. This can include:

• Helping clients with personal care and hygiene
• Assisting clients with light physical exercise or walks
• Planning and preparing meals with clients
• Handling light housekeeping duties
• Reporting health changes or unusual incidents
• Providing pleasant, supportive companionship
• Responding quickly and responsibly in emergencies
• Accompanying and supervise clients during shopping trips
• Reminding clients to take prescription medications appropriately
• Providing assistance with mobility and ambulation both at home and during appointments/errands

A Visiting Angels Part Time CHHA works under a Registered Nurse, and there are no supervision responsibilities with this position. The CHHA has HIPAA restricted access to certain client information, and is an hourly per-diem, non-exempt Direct Care staff member with no guaranteed minimum number of hours per week.

Part Time CHHA Job Requirements

• Valid certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA), licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred to posses a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clients
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must
• Have excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at once
• Reliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide care
• Feel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a client
• Feel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints
• Are willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)
• Have compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client
• Ability to perform patient observation accurately and respond promptly to changing health conditions
