Job summary

Montgomery College is accepting applications for possible openings as part-time chemistry instructors across the Rockville, Germantown, and Takoma Park/Silver Spring campuses. Courses include introductory, general, organic chemistry and labs, with day, evening, weekend, and possible summer sections.

Qualified candidates hold a master’s degree in chemistry or biochemistry with teaching experience in introductory, general, or organic chemistry. A PhD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline.
• Experience teaching intro/general/organic chemistry.
• Ph.D. degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry (preferred).
• Proficiency with traditional and online instructional technology (LMS, web-based tools).

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned lecture, discussion and/or laboratory courses in chemistry (intro, general, organic, or non-majors).
• Deliver a varied schedule including daytime, evening, weekend, and possibly summer sections.
• Administer, grade and provide timely feedback on student progress; meet deadlines for mid-term and final grades.
