Job summary

NUWAY Alliance is seeking a part-time Chemical Dependency Technician for the NUWAY III location in Minneapolis, MN. The role supports clients from admission through discharge under supervision of counselors, with emphasis on safety, confidentiality, and professional conduct.

The ideal candidate has experience in mental health or substance use treatment, and availability on weekdays and weekends. Night hours pay an additional $2/hour.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older.
• First Aid/CPR and Medication Administration cert within 30 days (Residential only).
• Able to pass Minnesota DHS background study.
• Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficient English; able to document services in writing in English.
• Physical Demands: sitting for extended periods; lifting up to 25 pounds; navigate program/office facilities.
• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• Previous experience in an addiction treatment facility or mental health field (preferred).
• Competent computer skills and able to enter information in various systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients from admission through discharge providing client support throughout the substance and mental health treatment process.
• CD Techs supervise and manage client behavior and assist on-duty counselors as required.
• Respond professionally to medical emergencies; maintain client confidentiality per HIPAA and state/federal guidelines.
• Maintain a professional image and adapt to diverse situations within the facility.
