Job summary

USI in Evansville seeks an Assistant Cheer Coach to support the Head Coach in managing the cheer program. You will coach practices, assist events, and help implement strategies from coach meetings.

You will coordinate recruiting with the Head Coach, ensure academic eligibility, and maintain compliance with NCAA and university rules while engaging in fundraising and public relations activities for the program.

Qualifications

• Fundraising experience required.
• Familiarity with OVC, UCA and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Proficiency with computer systems, internet, word processing, spreadsheets, databases and email software.

Responsibilities

• Coach practice sessions and workouts; assist with coaching at athletic events.
• Attend preparatory meetings and implement strategies from meetings.
• Develop knowledge of the sport and stay familiar with NCAA rules.
• Scout and recruit student-athletes; coordinate recruiting with Head Coach.
• Secure practice times and facilities; monitor academic progress for eligibility.
• Ensure conduct and appearance rules are followed by athletes; coordinate with athletic training staff.
• Participate in public relations activities and fundraising to support the program.
• Adhere to NCAA, Conference and institutional rules; report violations promptly.
