Qualifications

• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or clerk preferred.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers and learning their names.
• Handle customer inquiries that do not require pharmacist expertise.
• Accept new prescription orders and refill requests under supervising pharmacist.
• Contact doctor offices for refill prescriptions as needed.
• Gather and maintain accurate patient information to prepare prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products and labeling.
• Prepare and submit insurance claims and assist with third‑party billing.
• File prescriptions after dispensing and report medication errors as needed.
• Order, check in, stock pharmacy supplies and log invoices.
• Administer vaccines where allowed and maintain a clean dispensing area.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and PPE and hygiene standards.
