The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia seeks reliable Part-Time Transit Bus Drivers for the University Transit Service. Work includes operating a fixed-route transit unit and supporting university events; hours are limited to 28 per week.

Compensation starts at $23.25 per hour for CDL training components and $25.00 per hour for drivers with CDL endorsements; this is a wage position with no leave benefits, and includes background/DOT checks and other pre-employment requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License with a good driving record (zero or positive points).
• Must obtain Class A or B CDL with Passengers and Air Brakes endorsements within first 30-45 days.
• Knowledge of highway regulations; effective verbal and listening communications; time and stress management; ability to read and write English to record daily route records; ability to follow verbal instructions via two-way radio; provide friendly customer service.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to drive and operate transit vehicles.
