Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Homewood, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse for a part-time role in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). The nurse will work two 12-hour day shifts (7am–7pm) and provide high-acuity patient care in a specialized setting with a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio.

Responsibilities include developing care plans, collaborating with the medical team, documenting patient progress, and ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health unit/department.
• Maintains current Alabama RN license or valid multi-state RN license; BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, and TNCC are required for certain areas; NRP for NICU.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs and develops an individualized plan of care; evaluates progress toward outcomes.
• Respects diversity by building respectful relationships with team members and patients.
• Acts as patient and family advocate; provides care appropriate to age group.
• Preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator or clinician on assignment.
• Collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to plan and manage care.
• Documents patient care in a thorough, compliant manner (assessments, education, meds, safety).
• Maintains standards of care and participates in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
