Job summary

LivingWellNYC in Brooklyn, NY invites a part-time psychotherapist to join a private practice. The role focuses on individual, couple, and/or family psychotherapy with intake assessments, treatment planning, ongoing psychotherapy, and thorough clinical documentation.

Collaborating with an office manager, the clinician will coordinate care, adhere to ethical standards, and pursue ongoing professional development while serving a diverse client base across life stages.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in psychology and mental health to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns.
• Demonstrated counseling and relationship counseling skills to support individuals, couples, and families in achieving therapeutic goals.
• Knowledge of medicine and psychopharmacology as it relates to mental health, and ability to collaborate with medical or psychiatric providers when needed.
• Current licensure in New York State or eligibility for licensure within a defined timeframe.
• Experience providing CBT-based psychotherapy; mindfulness and spiritually informed approaches are a plus.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations across age, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear documentation and professional correspondence.
• Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and ongoing continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Provide individual, couple, and/or family psychotherapy.
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with office manager on scheduling and client transitions.
• Coordinate care with other providers when clinically indicated.
