Job summary

NHS Ayrshire and Arran are seeking a Part-time Catering Assistant to join the Catering Department at Arran War Memorial Hospital. The post offers two options: 18 hours per week over 2 days, or 20 hours per week over 5 days, with permanent status.

You will provide a high-quality catering service to patients, reheat meals with the iWave system, prepare light meals, and maintain hygiene and allergen controls in line with Food Hygiene Regulations and NHS policies.

Qualifications

• An elementary food hygiene certificate or willingness to obtain within 4 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high-quality catering service for patients.
• Reheat and serve patient meals using the iWave system with barcode checks.
• Prepare light meals and snacks; monitor allergen controls and food hygiene.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and food preparation areas in line with NHS policies.
