Job summary

Scheels All Sports, Inc. in Overland Park, KS is seeking a friendly cashier to greet customers, scan items, balance cash drawer, and help deliver a world-class shopping experience.

You will promote the Scheels Visa, assist with digital receipts, and participate in store promotions while working a flexible schedule between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday; average about 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1-3 months of cashiering experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers with a smile when entering and exiting the store
• Enhance the customer experience by engaging in conversation while providing personalized service and consistently meeting the goals of the digital receipt program
• Accurately scan every item customers are purchasing, ensuring all merchandise is properly rung through and paid for before the customer leaves the store
• Treat merchandise with care, and bag purchases carefully and efficiently
• Promote the Scheels Visa card and clearly explain all benefits
• Ask every customer to sign up for digital receipts
• End each transaction by saying “thank you” to every customer
• Perform basic math, calculate discounts, make change, and accurately balance the cash drawer
• Operate the computerized register system and follow all cash handling policies
• Maintain an awareness of in-store events and promotions
• Keep the checkout area stocked and clean
