Job summary

Ace Hardware in Florida is seeking part-time cashiers to deliver friendly, helpful service at the register and at the door.

Responsibilities include operating the POS system with accuracy, handling returns and exchanges, processing payments, promoting the Ace Rewards program, and maintaining cash drawer integrity.

Physical duties include standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and availability to work weekends; 16–28 hours weekly is typical.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work on weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register (POS) with accuracy and efficiency (overrides, customer escalations, and higher-level POS functions).
• Handle merchandise returns and exchanges quickly and efficiently.
• Oversee cash flow, proper documentation, safe drops, and count downs on registers.
• Ask each customer for their Ace Rewards card or invite them to join the program.
• Count the cash drawer to verify accuracy before each shift and balance the drawer at the end of the shift.
• Address customer complaints in a positive manner and involve store management when necessary.
• Responsible for ensuring store security when needed and proper closing procedures.
