Job summary

McCoy’s Building Supply in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a part-time cashier to assist customers with monetary transactions and store support. You will greet customers, operate the cash register, process payments, and help locate products.

The role requires strong customer service, basic math, and knowledge of store policies; on-the-job training levels 1–2 will be provided. Evening/weekend availability may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of on-the-job training levels 1–2.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers as they enter the location.
• Operates the cash register accurately using the UPC scanner, quick key, and product keywords.
• Accepts money in cash, checks, and cards for items purchased.
• Assists customers with locating products, questions about products or prices.
• Balances cash register and sales at shift start and end.
• Processes returns and exchanges per store policy.
• Escalates complaints to management when appropriate.
