POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cashier is responsible for checking out customers' merchandise through the POS registers. They perform various customer service activities, including greeting and acknowledging all customers promptly and friendly, and handling merchandise with care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service, ensuring a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
• Approaches all customers in a friendly and outgoing manner.
• Remains knowledgeable about products.
• Stays aware of advertised sales.
• Stocks and straightens shelves and pegs in the immediate area when not directly ringing up products.
• Provides a legendary experience for every customer by assisting in making buying decisions, including:
• Identifying and evaluating customers' needs,
• Making product recommendations based on this analysis,
• Promoting programs like CLUB Membership, VOC, and In-Store Pick-up.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent experience required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

• Ability to calculate discounts and make change.
• Ability to communicate professionally and friendly with customers and coworkers.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to operate a computerized POS register system.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• N/A

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Constant standing and/or walking during shifts.
• Occasional use of ladders, stairs, ramps, etc.
• Constant communication with others.
• Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Occasional work in low/high temperatures, outdoor elements, noisy environments.
• Light work involving moving and lifting objects up to 20 pounds constantly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, using team lifts as needed.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

• Performs tasks under general supervision, using established procedures and some innovation. Makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
