Role Overview:

Responsible for operating the cash register and electronic scanner to process customer purchases, receive payments, and assist with bagging, all while delivering courteous customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate cash register, handle transactions with cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, rain checks, voids, and coupons accurately.
• Weigh and carefully bag customer items, including dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy, produce, and meats.
• Use check-stand equipment efficiently and ensure accurate product identification and signage.
• Communicate store programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers, providing high standards of service.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the department, including stocking and adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Assist with front-end duties and other tasks as assigned based on customer needs.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform frequent bending, stooping, and twisting. Exposure to varied temperatures and environmental conditions is expected.
