Vigo County CASA seeks a part-time Staff Advocate to represent abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system. You will handle case triage, perform visits, gather background data, and prepare court reports for hearings.

The role involves about 29 hours per week, direct collaboration with court personnel and social service providers, and maintaining records and timelines for all assigned cases.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Recommended but not required: Baccalaureate Degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Human Development or related field.
• Must complete 30 hour CASA training course.
• Must carry 15+ advocacy caseload.
• Requires valid driver’s license and proof of valid insurance.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.

Responsabilités

• Advocate and represent abused and neglected children in Juvenile Court.
• Maintain program database with placement and case information.
• Provide written court reports for periodic reviews, permanency and termination hearings.
• Attend court proceedings and provide testimony as required.
• Perform duties to ensure documents are scanned, processed and accessible.
