Job summary

The YMCA of the Roses is seeking caring and dependable Child Watch Staff to join our team at the Shrewsbury YMCA. This part-time position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children, engaging them in age-appropriate activities, and providing a positive environment while parents and caregivers enjoy all the Y has to offer.

You will supervise children, assist with activities, and follow safety policies, with weekday mornings, evenings, and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 8th grade education and 500 hours of experience with children.
• Clearances: state police, child abuse, and FBI fingerprint.
• Must have or obtain Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid.
• Must have or obtain mandated reporter training.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, actively participates in, and assists children in activities.
• Maintains safety policies and guides children in routines.
• Completes required documentation (incident reports).
• Maintains a child-friendly center and implements discipline as needed.
• Attends staff meetings and reports concerns to supervisor.
• Performs janitorial duties and follows YMCA policies.
• Maintains confidentiality and respectful treatment of families.
