Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is seeking a part-time Support Specialist to help individuals overcome barriers to employment and achieve career goals.

You will collaborate with career coaches, document progress, and connect participants with resources, while maintaining accurate data.

Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential; a High School diploma or GED is required, with preferred associate degree. This role offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment across Kentucky locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree or one year of work experience in workforce development/social services environments preferred.
• Must have outstanding oral and written communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with career coaches to serve participants requiring limited, short term support services, referrals to other resources, and sign-up for additional career services training and employment services.
• Functions as a member of the Career Coaches’ team, exchanging peer input into the delivery of services and sharing resources.
• Maintains current and accurate data in the assigned data entry system and reports on individuals served, placed, retained, etc.
• Monitors participants served and acts as a first line of service for problem resolution.
• Liaises between Career Coaches, participants, and other agencies; escalates service levels as needs or career goals require continuity of services.
• Makes referrals to other community organizations and provides soft-touch referrals for job leads, resumes, or applications.
• Communicates with job seekers to identify and address immediate needs such as food, clothing, transportation, etc.; offers direct support to overcome barriers to employment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
