Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a part-time Self-Image Consultant for the Cancer Center’s self-image program. You will educate patients on hair loss, scalp care, skin changes, wigs, prosthetics, cosmetics, scarves, hats and clothing, and provide personalized product recommendations.

Responsibilities include hands-on wig care training, patient and family support, and managing retail tasks such as opening/closing, transactions, and inventory.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service experience.
• High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Provide self-image consultations, including hair loss, scalp care, and skin changes.
• Educate on products and services such as prosthetics, wigs, skin care, cosmetics, scarves, hats, and clothing.
• Offer personalized self-image product recommendations based on patient preferences.
• Provide education and hands-on training for wig care, hair care, skin care, scalp care, makeup techniques, scarf tying and fashion options.
• Support patients and families coping with treatment-related impacts and refer to services as needed.
• Handle retail duties: open/close store, sales transactions, balance cash drawer, process deposits and daily sales docs.
• Maintain product displays and inventory; oversee volunteers and site cleanliness.
