Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Part Time Security Officer Patrol Incident Reporting in Norfolk, VA. You will provide customer service while patrolling campus, monitor access points, and respond to incidents, helping keep students, staff, and visitors safe.

This role offers flexible day and night shifts, a focus on teamwork and reliability, and opportunities to grow through training and a range of campus assignments.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking facilities, walkways, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Monitor access points and campus activity, verify authorized access when required, and assist with directions, escorts, and general information.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and patrol activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
