Job summary

Utah State University is seeking a dependable Part-Time Grounds Employee for USU Eastern to assist with the upkeep and appearance of campus grounds. This position helps create a safe, clean, and welcoming outdoor environment for students, staff, and visitors and suits someone who enjoys outdoor work and being physically active.

Typical duties include mowing lawns, trimming, edging, pulling weeds, and basic landscape maintenance; operating groundskeeping equipment safely; and supporting other

Qualifications

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Previous groundskeeping or maintenance experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Mow lawns and maintain turf areas
• Trim grass, shrubs, and landscaped areas
• Edge sidewalks, curbs, and landscaped borders
• Pull weeds and assist with general landscape maintenance
• Empty and maintain outdoor trash and recycling receptacles
• Assist with seasonal cleanup, including leaf removal and debris cleanup
• Operate basic groundskeeping equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist other campus departments with tasks or projects as needed
• Help with Motor pool & Mail when needed
• Follow safety procedures and campus policies at all times
• Up to 40 hours per week during the summer, based on departmental needs
