Job summary

State of Utah is seeking a Groundskeeper II to maintain lawns, plant beds, and assist with irrigation and equipment maintenance at the Utah State Developmental Center in American Fork. The role requires physical exertion, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and a willingness to work outdoors in all seasons.

You will lead other grounds staff as needed. Preference given to candidates with 3 years landscaping experience, pesticide/herbicide experience, irrigation know-how, and a Utah Pesticide

Qualifications

• The ability to lift 50 lbs.
• The ability to operate a variety of hand tools and automotive equipment.

Responsibilities

• Mow, rake, water, and fertilize lawns.
• Plant, transplant, water, fertilize, and trim flowers and shrubs.
• Assist with general maintenance of sprinkler systems.
• Assist with preventative maintenance of lawnmowers, snow blowers, and other small groundskeeping equipment.
• May apply herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, fertilizers, and other chemical compounds.
• Lead other groundskeepers in functional supervisory roles.
• Remove snow.
