Job summary

Barry University is seeking an SE - Event Support Assistant in the Student and Family Engagement office at the Miami Shores campus. This as-needed, part-time role supports event setup, staffing, and on-site operations, with shifts that may occur in the daytime, evenings, and weekends.

Ideal candidates are currently enrolled Barry University students in good standing, capable of physical work, and committed to the full duration of assigned events. Training and teamwork are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled Barry University student in good standing.
• Available to work flexible, as-needed assignments including evenings, weekends, and occasional early morning shifts.
• Able to commit to the full duration of accepted event assignments, including setup and breakdown time, and respond to scheduling requests in a timely manner.
• Ability to perform physical work, including prolonged standing and walking and moving event materials and equipment.
• Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, teamwork, and effective communication skills when interacting with staff, students, families, and event guests.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the setup and breakdown of campus events, including arranging, transporting, loading, and unloading tables, chairs, tents, signage, supplies, and other event materials.
• Provide on-site event support by assisting with event operations, check-in activities, guest assistance, material distribution, and replenishment of event supplies.
• Support event logistics by preparing event spaces, maintaining supplies and equipment, and assisting with event flow during programs and activities.
• Perform post-event cleanup and ensure materials and equipment are properly collected, stored, and returned after events.
• Collaborate with Student and Family Engagement staff, student leaders, campus partners, and vendors to support successful execution of events and programs.
