The Judson Mead Geological Field Station (IUGFS) is a unique Indiana University facility located in Montana and operated by the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (EAS) for one of the nation's top ranked field geology programs. The facility includes a state-of-the-art classroom building, faculty housing units, kitchen and cafeteria facilities, student dorm rooms, accessory buildings, and a resident manager house. We offer a world-class facility located in some of the most diverse and complex geology in North America. During the summer months the facility is an active teaching campus with up to 100 students, faculty, and staff on-site. In the off-season it is used by outside groups and the winter is an active time for maintenance and improvements.
The Field Station is in the Tobacco Root Mountains just south of Cardwell Montana; near Yellowstone National Park, Lewis and Clark Caverns, and the Butte-Anaconda mining district.

This position requires the ability to move heavy objects. Ability to remain stationary for long duration and work in adverse environmental conditions. This position requires the ability to discern sounds and work with hazardous materials. This position requires the ability to position oneself at lower levels and work with loud noises. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
The employee is expected to live on-site at the Field Station. Room and board are included.
