Job summary

Mesa Public Schools in Mesa, AZ is seeking a part-time School Cafeteria Monitor to help keep students safe during lunch and recess. This 20-hour-per-week role supports cafeteria and playground supervision and behavior management on campus.

You will observe activities, intervene when needed, report incidents to staff, assist with lunchtime duties, and help with cleanup and routine tasks. A high school diploma and 18+ age are required, with prior experience supervising children.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience working with and/or supervising children.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the activities of students in the cafeteria and/or on the playground.
• Counsel and intervene with students to ensure acceptable behavior.
• Report observations and incidents relating to students to appropriate school personnel.
• Respond to emergencies to address immediate safety concerns.
• Assist students during lunchtime.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks (clean spills, tables, floors).
• Regular and on-time attendance required.
• Perform other related duties to ensure efficient functioning of the work unit.
• Assist with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area and Mesa Public Schools.
