Job summary

Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio is seeking a part-time Food Service staff member to support daily meal operations in the district kitchen. The role involves food prep, inventory, cash handling, and ensuring compliance with nutrition regulations.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, prior food service experience, and the ability to lift 30–50 pounds. Hours are 3.5 hours with a schedule from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, subject to needs and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Computer knowledge and possess basic academic skills.
• Prior experience as a food service employee.
• Knowledge of state and federal nutritional regulations.
• Physically capable of standing, stooping, stretching, and moving items and equipment.
• Ability to lift 30–50 pounds.
• Good character, courtesy, efficiency, cleanliness, and commitment to student welfare.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains daily and monthly records, inventories, invoices, and reports deficiencies.
• Participates in meal preparation including menus, ordering food, supplies and equipment, preparation, serving, cashiering and clean-up.
• Follows approved menus and standardized recipes.
• Uses a computer, POS software, email and web browsing.
• Handles daily revenues including drawer cash count and recording of monies.
• Reports problems to Kitchen Manager or Food Service Director.
• Follows food safety regulations and district policies.
• Attends meetings and trainings as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
