Job summary

Los Angeles Metro seeks a part-time Bus Operator to transport passengers, provide outstanding customer service, and perform safety inspections to ensure safe, on-time operations. Under direct supervision, you will operate buses, assist riders, and deliver route and fare information across LA County.

The role requires a focus on safety, a clean driving record, and adherence to Metro policies. You may work varied shifts in a dynamic, 24/7 operation with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Combination of education and/or experience to perform essential functions; substitution allowed on a year-for-year basis.
• Must be at least 21 years old; possess valid CA driver's license and meet DMV requirements.
• Safety-sensitive position with drug and alcohol testing per FTA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Collects fares and transports passengers on public transit buses.
• Provides schedule, route, and fare information to passengers.
• Performs pre-pull-out safety checks and informs maintenance of issues.
• Operates wheelchair ramp and assists passengers with disabilities.
• Maintains driving records and complies with state/local traffic laws.
