Job summary

Tri-County Action Program, Inc. in Elk River is seeking a compassionate, attentive individual to drive public transit buses on a part-time basis.

You will operate routes safely, assist passengers, conduct basic inspections, monitor fare collection, and complete related paperwork while delivering exceptional customer service. The position offers 20-29 hours per week with CDL training paid by the company; candidates must have a CDL with passenger endorsement or willingness to obtain one, and pass

Qualifications

• CDL with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain is required.
• Pass DMV violations and criminal background checks.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and comply with testing regs.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and secure mobility devices.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Able to work with a diverse population, incl. people with disabilities.
• Proficient with navigation tech and computers.
• Availability Monday-Saturday, 20–29 hours per week.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, and dependable individual to join our team driving public transit bus part-time in our Elk River location. The ideal candidate should be personable, customer-focused, values safety, a logical thinker and a proactive problem-solver.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Safely operate bus on assigned route, staying on schedule and providing excellent service to customers.
• Assist passengers as needed with mobility aids including wheelchairs, walkers or other aids, assuring that all passengers are secured properly and all mobility aids are stowed securely.
• Conduct daily and weekly vehicle inspections and report defects to Lead Driver.
• Monitor fare collection from passengers.
• Complete paperwork related to bus operation and passenger concerns.
• Be responsible for daily cleaning and bus maintenance.

Starting Hourly Wage: $24.50 - $26.50

PLUS: We will pay for your training to obtain your CDL!

Qualifications:

• CDL with a passenger endorsement, MNDOT medical exam card, OR ability to obtain
• Pass DMV violations check and criminal background check
• Pass pre- employment drug screening, ability to comply with FTA drug and alcohol testing regulations
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds, maneuver and secure mobility devices, and drive for extended periods of time
• Excellent customer service and effective communication skills
• Ability to work with a diverse population, including people with disabilities
• Proficient with computers, navigation technology
• Must be available for scheduling Monday-Saturday, 20-29 hours per week
