Job summary

Tri-County Action Program, Inc. in Waite Park, MN, is seeking a compassionate, dependable part-time public transit bus driver to join our team. You will provide safe, customer-focused service on a scheduled route and assist riders, including those using mobility aids.

Starting wage is $24.50–$26.50 per hour, and we will pay for CDL training. Candidates must pass background checks, DMV/drug screens, and be available Monday through Saturday for 20–29 hours per week.

Qualifications

• CDL with passenger endorsement or the ability to obtain
• MNDOT medical exam card or the ability to obtain
• Background check including DMV violations and criminal history
• Pre-employment drug screening and compliance with FTA drug/alcohol testing
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds and handle mobility devices
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Proficiency with computers and navigation technology
• Availability Monday–Saturday, 20–29 hours per week

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Safely operate bus on assigned route, staying on schedule and providing excellent service to customers.
• Assist passengers as needed with mobility aids including wheelchairs, walkers or other aids, assuring that all passengers are secured properly and all mobility aids are stowed securely.
• Conduct daily and weekly vehicle inspections and report defects to Lead Driver.
• Monitor fare collection from passengers.
• Complete paperwork related to bus operation and passenger concerns.
• Be responsible for daily cleaning and bus maintenance.

Starting Hourly Wage: $24.50-$26.50

PLUS: We will pay for your training to obtain your CDL!

Qualifications:

• CDL with a passenger endorsement, MNDOT medical exam card, OR ability to obtain
• Pass DMV violations check and criminal background check
• Pass pre-employment drug screening, ability to comply with FTA drug and alcohol testing regulations
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds, maneuver and secure mobility devices, and drive for extended periods of time
• Excellent customer service and effective communication skills
