Description

Position Summary

As a Part-Time Budtender, you are the face of our store — providing customers with knowledgeable, compliant, and welcoming service on the sales floor. In addition to standard budtender responsibilities, this role is trusted with store keys and is responsible for opening and closing the location, including securing the premises and reconciling cash at the start and end of each shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Greet and assist customers with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Ensure compliance with state and company regulations regarding age verification and product limitations.
• Work as a team to maintain an effective atmosphere and efficient service.
• Educate customers on cannabis products, including strains, consumption methods, and effects.
• Provide personalized recommendations based on customer preferences and needs.
• Clean, stock, and organize the dispensary; work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked to Company standards at all times.
• Input orders in a timely and accurate manner, collect payment from customers, and make appropriate change.
• Quickly and precisely handle cash and debit transactions while maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
• Conduct inventory counts of dispensary products.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and products offered.
• Update menus and signage with informative and visually appealing information.
• Accurately weigh and package cannabis products for sale.
• Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a courteous and effective manner.
• Process sales transactions through the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Open and close the retail store in accordance with company policies and security procedures.
• Complete all opening and closing operational checklists accurately and on time.
• Secure the premises at close, including locking doors and setting the alarm per company policy.
• Reconcile the cash drawer(s) at the start and end of each shift when opening or closing the store.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Knowledge of cannabis preferred.
• One year of retail or other applicable customer service experience required; cannabis industry experience preferred.
• Must be able to accommodate scheduling expectations, including weekend and evening hours.
• Basic computer skills, point-of-sale software, and cash management.
• Must be of legal age to sell cannabis, 21 or older.
• Basic mathematical skills and the ability to handle money and give correct change.
• Basic reading skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must be trusted to responsibly hold and safeguard store keys and/or alarm codes.
• Prior experience opening or closing a retail location preferred.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality required given opening/closing responsibilities.
• Must obtain and maintain any state-required cannabis employee registration or permit, where applicable.
