Job summary

Story Cannabis is seeking a Budtender to warmly greet patients, advise on cannabis products, and ensure a superior customer experience. You will help patients select products, process payments, educate on safe use, and maintain a clean, compliant store environment.

This role requires knowledge of cannabis strains and benefits, strong communication skills, and reliability in stocking and inventory tasks. Training and growth opportunities are available in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proven Budtender experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to pass a background check and obtain facility agent card from the state.
• Sound knowledge of cannabis strains and their medicinal benefits.
• Excellent organizational and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and advise on cannabis products based on needs and preferences.
• Keep abreast of new products and industry trends.
• Process payments using the dispensary POS system.
• Keep the store clean and well-organized.
• Educate patients on safe use of products.
• Check IDs to verify legal age and credentials for entry and purchase.
• Take inventory and ensure adequate stock on the sales floor.
• Complete assigned opening and closing tasks.

About The Role

The Budtender greets and welcomes patients, helps patients with product selections, adheres to policies and procedures, and ensures a wonderful patient experience.

• Provides a wonderful experience for the patient.
• Advises patients on suitable cannabis products based on their needs, preferences, budgets, and reactions to different strains of cannabis.
• Keepes abreast of new cannabis products on the market as well as the latest industry trends.
• Processes patients’ payments using the dispensary's Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Ensures that the store is always clean and well-organized.
• Educates patients on the safe use of their selected cannabis product.
• Correctly weighs, packages, and labels cannabis products, as required.
• Checks patient’s identification documents to verify that they are of legal age and hold the necessary credentials needed to enter the dispensary and purchase product.
• Takes inventory of cannabis products and ensures that the sales floor is adequately stocked.
• Ensures that assigned opening and closing tasks are completed.
• Maintains compliance by following the proper policies and procedures set by the company and the state.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Work well with other team members.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
• Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times.
