WILLIAM H BUNCH AUCTIONEER & APPRAISER LLC is seeking a part-time Accountant/Bookkeeper for its busy auction house. The role offers about 30 hours per week to start in a niche industry blending historical, internet and retail commerce, with a friendly, team-oriented environment.

Ideal candidates are recent graduates with a business/accounting degree and have potential to transition into a full-time business management role as the company grows and offers advancement opportunities.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting practices.
• Experience entering transactions into accounting software programs.
• Familiarity with financial statement preparation and understanding of basic tax liabilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time constrictions.
• Communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and clients.
• Analytical skills to identify errors or discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• About 30 hours per week to start, some flexibility in hours and days
• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping/accounting activities and reporting
• Use accounting software to generate spreadsheets and key financial reports
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documents
• Support payroll administration and related payroll functions as needed
• Address client and staff queries
• Assist with general administrative and clerical tasks connected to accounting operations
