Job summary

Fedco Seeds Cooperative is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our Finance team in Clinton, Maine. The role requires accuracy, strong bookkeeping experience, and the ability to work independently with deadlines.

This position offers 20 hours per week, in-person with potential for a hybrid setup after onboarding, and a competitive hourly pay of $25.00. You’ll support routine accounting tasks and month-end activities in a mission-driven cooperative.

Qualifications

• 3+ years bookkeeping/accounting experience
• Proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping
• Experience with reconciliations (bank, card, payroll)
• Accounts payable/receivable and payroll experience
• ERP software experience; Acumatica is a plus
• Excel/spreadsheet skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
• Strong organization and communication
• Professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
• Experience collaborating across departments

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger and records
• Record journal entries and financial transactions
• Perform reconciliations (bank, payroll, balance sheet)
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Support payroll processing and recordkeeping
• Assist month-end close and financial reporting
• Prepare spreadsheets and financial reports
• Ensure records are accurate and compliant
• Collaborate with Finance to resolve discrepancies
• Support other bookkeeping needs as they arise
