Job summary

The Leinwand Laboratory at the University of Colorado Boulder is seeking a part-time Research Assistant to support genetic heart and skeletal muscle disease research. The role is temporary, 5-10 hours per week, focusing on molecular biology techniques and data collection in a collaborative lab environment.

Candidates will perform recombinant DNA experiments, maintain mammalian cultures, conduct transfections, acquire microscopy images, and organize data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in a molecular biology research laboratory.

The Leinwand Laboratory is seeking qualified candidates for atemporary, part-time Research Assistant position. The candidatewill be expected to work 5-10 hours per week.

What We Require
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Biology, Molecular Biology, CellBiology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in a molecularbiology research laboratory.
What You Will Need
  • Demonstrated experience with recombinant DNA construct designand assembly using techniques such as PCR, inverse PCR, and GibsonAssembly.
  • Proficiency in agarose gel electrophoresis.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture, transfection, primarycell maintenance, and nucleofection.
  • Experience with live-cell imaging using confocalmicroscopy.
  • Proficiency in image processing and analysis using Image.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for data management andorganization.
  • Experience using GraphPad Prism for data visualization andstatistical analysis.
