Job summary

Mom’s Meals is hiring a part-time bilingual customer service representative in Des Moines, IA. You’ll be the first friendly voice customers hear as they place meal orders, handling inbound and outbound calls with care and accuracy.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and about 1 year of customer service experience. Two weeks of full-time onsite training (9:00am–6:00pm) is provided, with regular shifts 10:30am–2:30pm or 1:30pm–5:30pm, 20–29 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn software in work/school setting.
• Strong verbal communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to follow company policies and demonstrate core values.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound calls for meal orders.
• Provide helpful, friendly customer service and resolve issues.
• Enter order information into client order screens accurately.
• Document conversations in the client information database.
• Ensure clients are contacted and have an order on file.
• Coordinate with case managers by phone, email, or fax as needed.
• Work efficiently while maintaining a customer-focused pace.

Job description

Mom’s Meals, the leading national provider of refrigerated home-delivered meals in the healthcare market, is looking for upbeat, people-first individuals to join our team as Part-time Bilingual Customer Service Representatives. In this role, you’ll be one of the first friendly voices our customers connect with as they place meal orders. The starting wage is $18.00/hour.

Standard work hours are Monday-Friday, 10:30am-2:30pm OR 1:30pm-5:30pm (20-29 hours/week).

This position requires 2 weeks of full-time onsite training, Monday-Friday from 9:00am-6:00pm.

This is an onsite position at 7000 Fleur Drive, Des Moines IA 50321 and can start on Monday, September 28th OR Monday, October 12th.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to

• Handle inbound and outbound customer service calls with our clients placing their meal order
• Address questions, and provide exceptional customer service
• Input order information into the appropriate client order screen
• Document all conversations with client into client information database
• Ensure all assigned clients are contacted and have an order on file
• Contact case managers via telephone, email, and/or fax when a special situation arises regarding one of their clients
• Work quickly and efficiently without making the client feel rushed

Required Skills & Experience

• High school degree or GED
• 1 year of previous customer service experience
• Basic computer proficiency, including experience learning and using software in a work or school setting
• Clear oral communication skills
• Ability to deescalate situations and quickly resolve customer complaints
• Prior experience adhering to company policies and showing core values

Preferred Skills & Experience

• 1 year of previous call center experience
• Previous experience with auto dialer, multi-line phone system, and/or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams
• Previous experience working with HIPAA policies and procedures

Physical Requirements

• Repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods
• Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
