CONTINUING EDUCATION – BICYCLE REPAIR INSTRUCTOR – PARTTIME

Olive-Harvey College is currently seeking a part-time instructor toteach Bicycle Repair courses. The ideal candidate will havedemonstrated success in the classroom or training environment bydeveloping and using effective teaching strategies that meetstudents’ diverse needs and actively engage participants inhands-on learning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

· Adapt teaching methods to meet varying skill levels and learningstyles.

· Plan and conduct hands-on instructional activities that providestudents with opportunities to inspect, diagnose, maintain, andrepair bicycles.

· Demonstrate proper use of bicycle repair tools, equipment, andshop safety procedures.

· Monitor students’ performance, provide constructive feedback, andensure they meet course standards, training requirements, andlearning objectives.

· Teach bicycle maintenance topics such as flat tire repair, brakeadjustments, gear tuning, wheel alignment, and basic componentreplacement.

· Maintain a safe, organized, and productive classroom/shopenvironment.

· Be prepared to teach this course in person.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Experience in bicycle repair, maintenance, or bicycle shopoperations.

· Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experiencepreferred.

· Bicycle mechanic certification or industry-recognized credentialspreferred but not required.

· Ability to create a welcoming and supportive learningenvironment.

· Experience working with diverse populations.

· Ability to operate technical equipment, tools, and basic computersoftware.

· Strong communication and customer service skills.

Salary is $35.00/hour
