Job summary

Parkdale Center in Chesterton, IN is hiring a Part Time Behavioral Health Technician to support patients in mental health settings under clinical supervision. You will assist in implementing treatment plans, performing assessments, and ensuring patient safety while documenting progress and coordinating with the clinical team.

This role emphasizes direct patient care, crisis intervention when needed, and collaboration with families and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree is preferred.
• Experience or training in behavioral health or related clinical settings.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and mental health assessments.
• Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients and clinical teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support to individuals with mental health and severe emotional disturbances (SED).
• Conduct clinical assessments and assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment and discharge plans.
• Monitor patient behavior and intervene during crises to ensure safety and promote stabilization.
• Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and care plans.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, families, and other stakeholders to support patient care and facilitate effective communication.
