Parkdale Center at Bradford is seeking a Part Time Behavioral Health Technician in Chesterton, IN. The role focuses on direct patient care, clinical assessment support, and implementing treatment plans under clinical supervision.

Your work will help ensure patient safety, support stabilization, and maintain detailed documentation while collaborating with the clinical team and families.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • Experience or training in behavioral health, mental health, or related clinical settings.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and mental health clinical assessments.
  • Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow established protocols.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients and clinical teams.
  • Preferred: Certification as a Behavioral Health Technician or equivalent credential.
  • Experience with children/adolescents with SED is a plus.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical documentation software.

  • Conduct clinical assessments and assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment and discharge plans.
  • Monitor patient behavior and intervene during crises to ensure safety and promote stabilization.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and care plans.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, families, and other stakeholders to support patient care and facilitate effective communication.

Behavioral Health Technicians play a critical role in supporting individuals experiencing mental health challenges by providing direct care and assistance under the supervision of clinical staff. This position focuses on implementing treatment plans, conducting clinical assessments, and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients in various behavioral health settings.

  • Training in trauma-informed care and de‑scalation strategies.
  • Additional coursework or certification in crisis management or psychiatric rehabilitation.
