Job summary

Alpharus Health in Chicago, IL is seeking a part-time Admissions Counselor to support access to behavioral health services. You will conduct client interviews, assess eligibility, and coordinate admission into treatment programs, helping families navigate insurance and consent processes.

The role requires a bachelor's degree and clinical training; CADC/LPC/LSW are preferred. Schedule includes Sundays 9:00am-5:00pm and Tuesday-Thursday 2:00pm-9:00pm, with training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and life experience; 100 hours of documented clinical training in counseling preferred.
• Current CADC or higher licensure (LPC, LSW) in state of hire preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in substance abuse or mental health counseling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate admission into treatment programs by interviewing clients or representatives and preparing initial treatment plans.
• Determine eligibility for insurance coverage or medical assistance.
• Complete admission forms and obtain consent signatures.
• Respond to inquiries regarding treatment programs and services.
• In residential centers, maintain census counts and waiting lists.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
