Job summary

Alpharus Health in Caseyville, IL is hiring an Admissions Counselor I to support intake for residential treatment programs. You will interview clients or their representatives, complete assessments, and prepare initial treatment plans.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education with at least 100 hours of documented clinical training in counseling, and a minimum of 6 months’ experience in substance use or mental health counseling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and life experience required; 100 hours of documented clinical training in counseling theory and practice.
• Minimum 6 months of previous experience in substance abuse or mental health counseling required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating admissions into treatment programs by interviewing clients or their representatives to obtain relevant information, completing assessments, and preparing initial treatment plans.
• Determining eligibility for insurance coverage or medical assistance.
• Completing admission forms and obtaining necessary consent signatures.
• Responding to inquiries regarding treatment programs and available services.
• In residential centers, completing census counts and maintaining waiting lists.
• Other duties as assigned.
