Job summary

First Children Services is seeking a Part-Time Behavior Technician / Registered Behavior Technician (BT/RBT) to provide direct behavioral support under supervision. The role covers Plainfield, Roselle Park, and surrounding areas, serving clients in schools, clinics, homes, and communities.

The BT/RBT will implement individualized plans, collect data, and collaborate with families and clinicians to develop communication and adaptive skills, while maintaining a safe, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience working with children.
• Ability to work with children with a range of behavioral and support needs across different environments.
• Working knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and interventions.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to use technology for daily documentation and related job responsibilities.
• Ability to receive, apply, and respond positively to feedback.
• Ability to complete assigned administrative and program-support tasks, including preparing materials and maintaining assigned work areas.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, which may include standing, bending, kneeling, and running during a shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and group support to clients within the assigned service area.
• Follow individualized treatment plans and clinical programming developed by the treatment team.
• Collect accurate session data and complete required documentation within established timelines.
• Support the development of communication, social, behavioral, and adaptive skills.
• Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions as directed by the supervising clinician.
• Work collaboratively with families, supervisors, and other members of the treatment team.
• Promote positive behavioral outcomes and consistent implementation of treatment goals.
• Complete assigned administrative and program-support activities when direct service hours are not available.
• Maintain a professional, respectful, and supportive environment for clients and families.
• Follow organizational policies, procedures, and applicable standards.
