Job summary

Catapult Learning is seeking an Assistant Teacher for before- and after-school programs in Elizabeth, NJ. The role supports classroom supervision, student engagement, and safety, with seasonal summer programming as applicable.

The position requires a High School Diploma (ParaPro preferred) and Pediatric/CPR First Aid certification, with opportunities to grow through training and development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred
• Para Pro certificate is preferred
• Pediatric/CPR First Aid certification desirable

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment
• Support student engagement, classroom organization, and daily activities
• Provide consistent supervision for student safety and well-being
• Foster pro-social behavior and inclusive student engagement
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
• Follow behavior management strategies aligned with program philosophy
• Maintain confidentiality of student and family information
• Attend staff meetings, training, and school events
• Complete a minimum of 12 hours of annual professional development
