Job summary

Coloma Community Schools is seeking a part-time Band Assistant to support students in grades 5-12 and assist the band director with rehearsals, equipment, and materials.

The role requires a high school diploma, musical instrument experience, and strong organizational skills. Approximately 15 hours per week during school hours, with potential additional evening/weekend hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience playing a musical instrument, preferably in a school band setting.
• Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Availability for 15 hours per week during school hours (3 hrs/day).

Responsibilities

• Assist the band director in preparing for rehearsals and performances.
• Help students with instrument setup and maintenance.
• Assist with organizing and distributing sheet music and other materials.
• Attend rehearsals and performances to provide support to the band director and students.
• Help with the setup and teardown of equipment for rehearsals and performances.
• Assist in small groups and one on one practices.
• Assist with fundraising and other administrative tasks related to the band program.
