Job summary

El Camino Real Charter High School is seeking an Assistant Music Director (Part-Time) to oversee and implement the school’s music program. The role includes accompanying choir rehearsals and performances, and coordinating pit music for productions.

You will work under the Performing Arts Department Chair and collaborate with faculty to rehearse and stage school concerts, recitals, and special events. Evening/weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior music direction for musical theater production is required.
• Minimum 3 years of piano/keyboard accompaniment experience, including sight-reading.
• College-level training in piano and music theory is preferred.
• Must pass background check and TB clearance.

Responsibilities

• Act as music director for musical productions and hire pit musicians.
• Organize and run rehearsals and select musicians for performances.
• Accompany rehearsals and performances for choirs and musicals.
• Provide piano accompaniment for rehearsals, performances, and auditions as needed.
• Collaborate with faculty to prepare musical selections for concerts and events.
