The Duneland School Corporation is seeking a Band Assistant at Chesterton High School to work with the Band Director to enhance the band program through direct instruction, rehearsal support, and program development. The band assistant will work collaboratively with the current band director to provide additional musical, instructional, organizational, and program support to the band program. The assistant will utilize their experience as a former band director or experienced instrumental music educator to assist with the day-to-day operation, instruction, and development of the band program.
They may work directly with students, provide instructional and rehearsal support, assist with sectionals and performances, and collaborate with the band director in planning and implementing effective instructional strategies. The assistant serves as an experienced resource to the band director and students while supporting the overall goals and vision of the existing band program.
The position is intended to provide additional expertise, experience, and capacity within the band program while maintaining the leadership and direction of the current band director.
